Activated Bamboo Charcoal works through a process called 'adsorption'.
The porous properties of the charcoal allows it to trap and neutralize odors, pollutants, and moisture from the air. The pores in the charcoal create a large surface area that attracts and holds onto these impurities.

The bags last up to 2 years but need direct sunlight for approx 5 hours each month to allow UV rays from the sun to release the absorbed odors and moisture.

After 2 years of use, the bamboo charcoal can be crushed and mixed into garden soil to improve water retention and nutrient absorption or it can be used as a natural fertilizer as bamboo charcoal contains minerals beneficial to plants - winning.

NOTE: 

While the bags are great for removing odors and moisture, their efficacy in eliminating allergens and bacteria is limited. They can help reduce allergens to an extent by trapping dust and other particles, but they are not a replacement for air purifiers specifically designed to filter allergens and bacteria.
